The city of Austin is one step closer to permanently filling the city manager position. They don't want to rush the decision, but their goal is to have the position filled by April 2024.
It has taken almost one year for Austin to open the application process. Former city manager Spencer Cronk was fired after the city's response to last year's ice storm. We found that he was given too big of a severance payout ($1 MILLION).
We're calling for a frugal and reasonable contract for the new city manager!
