Twenty-three non-compliant charities are still receiving public funding despite not registering with the state. This morning, Adam Andrzejewski with OpenThebooks.com joined us to talk about the charities that have not filed with Maryland.
"They received a total of about $35 million in tax payer money just over the course of the past fifteen months," Andrzejewski said.
He went on to explain that since the story broke about charities being non-compliant with state regulation, several of the non-profits have got their paperwork in order. However, he is still concerned about the twenty-three who have yet to respond and are still receiving funding from the city.
