Washington (TND) — A recent investigation found some prominent Maryland charities collecting thousands and sometimes millions of dollars in taxpayer funds and yet failed to pay state fines it owed.
Auditors at Open the Books looked at the top 100 nonprofits in Baltimore receiving city funds. Over 30% were not compliant with state laws. Andrzejewski says despite exposing these nonprofits over a month ago, they are still not complying with the law.
